Top US diplomat Steve Witkoff has travelled to Russia for a meeting with Vladimir Putin, according to reports

Less than 48 hours after dining with a negotiator sent by Russian President Vladimir Putin in Washington last week, Steve Witkoff, the U.S. special envoy leading talks with Moscow, sat down with President Donald Trump in the White House and delivered a clear message.

Despite Russia playing down expectations of a breakthrough at the talks, Sky’s Ivor Bennett believes the meeting – Mr Witkoff’s third with Vladimir Putin this year – is significant as a sign of the Trump administration’s “increasing frustration at the lack of progress”.
